For our client, an international bank based in Zurich, Swisslinx are looking for a Senior Markit EDM Consultant with solid project experience and knowledge of Markit EDM for a new contract role in Zurich.
This is a contract running until the end of this year with a strong likelihood of extension starting in March/April 2015.
Senior Markit EDM Consultant (Long term contract, Zurich)
We are looking for a Senior Markit EDM Consultant who will be responsible for providing guidance, best practice advice and development on implementing various feeds and solutions within the Investment Management database (IMdb) Project. The consultant will need to be hands-on and capable of establishing and designing multiple domain architectures together with our internal BA's.
The IMdb Project aims at replacing an old in-house Legacy system covering about 30 inbound feeds and serving about 40 consuming applications including multiple complex Front Office systems like Charles River Investment Management and some in-house build systems.
Duties & accountabilities:
Make recommendations for implementation of new systems and technologies where appropriate.
Provides consultancy for business improvements. Investigates and documents existing procedures. Discusses proposed solutions for complex systems
Provides consulting services including identifying needs, developing, influencing, documenting and implementing proposals.
Together with Project Manager establishes cost and time estimates for implementation.
Supports the Project Manager on all business aspects and issues throughout the Implementation project life cycle.
Overall conceptual design and lead architect of MarkIT EDM Implementation
Advise IMdb Development Team on MarkIT EDM Best Practice implementation
Conceptual Design of a various Master solutions inc price, security & issuer
Advise implementations options for a Security Matching concept
Review of current implementation and design Target State
Provide guidance and input on performance tuning of current and future solutions.
To design and implement Bloomberg intraday request mechanism
Carry out a QA of the existing Matching logic and help to further develop this going forward.
Advise and develop an Engine to create custom benchmarks, custom carve-outs, spread benchmarks and absolute benchmarks.
In order to be considered for this role you will possess the following skills:
At least 5 years' experience working with Markit EDM Implementations
Proven track record implementing Security Matching and Mastering concepts
Experience of successful implementations serving multiple Front Office systems and ability to understand the complexity in terms of delivering data at a fixed time
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently, yet a strong team player
Ability to stay organized and to demonstrate an ability to complete tasks efficiently, accurately and on time.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
Experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Good knowledge of English language (both spoken and written) is a must
