MSSQL Database Specialist
On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance we are looking for a highly experienced MSSQL Database Specialist. For this contract position based in Zurich, Switzerland our client is looking for a German and English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. The position is for a strong production support DBA with good troubleshooting skills.
You, as the ideal candidate will be a flexible, open-minded, team worker, with a friendly and pleasant personality. You must be self-driven, be able to work under pressure (deadlines) and be willing to work outside normal business hours (weekends). Furthermore you will also bring the following knowledge and experience:
Technical skills;
- SQL Server 2005/8 exposure to 2012 preferable
- Performing all standard production services DBA activities including installation, performance tuning, backup and recovery
- Microsoft SQL Server Production Database Administration.
- Clustering, replication, Database mirroring and Log shipping skills
- Microsoft Windows 2003/8
- Extensive SQL tuning skills.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory architecture
- Extensive MS Business Intelligence suite know how
- Database installation, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of backup and recovery solution including lightspeed
- Full understanding of RFS, Incident and change management service delivery principles ITIL
- Commercial experience in a production and global financial organisation
- Support for a 24/7 on call rota
- MCP and other MS certifications desired
Soft skills;
- Pro-active and Strong communicator.
- Be able to prioritise your own workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Fluent English a must and German beneficial
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
