Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and track Product Change Notices to insure on-time approval.
  • Weekly reporting of approvals, rejections, and issues.
  • Engineer deviation management to obtain approvals and/or advanced engineering changes from engineering.
  • Communicate to, and obtain approval/tracking numbers from, receiving facilities.
  • Communicate tracking numbers, and identification requirements.
  • Conduct supplier tooling status follow up and insure on-time PPAP submission in accordance with a Master Tracking Chart.
  • Report tooling and PPAP status.
  • Coordinate sample parts activities with receiving facilities and obtain and attach quality approval to PPAP documentation for approval.
  • Review, disposition, and track the status of supplier PPAP submissions.
  • Coordinate with and assist suppliers in obtaining quality certification.
  • Attend regular follow up meetings to report out status and results of above.
  • Coordinate engineering supplier requests and facilitate timely responses from Global Purchasing while insuring entry of the new component into the Customer Management Tool.
SKILLS:

Skills/Qualifications:
  • APQP experience and preferably a manufacturing background.
  • Must have an extensive general manufacturing and/or quality background with one or more of the following processes:
    1. machining
    2. castings
    3. stamping/fabrication/welding/brazing
    4. assembly
    5. hoses/tubes.
  • Knowledge of PPAP documentation including the following:
    1. PPAP documentation
    2. Process Change Notification (PCN)
    3. PPAP sample part submission and verification
    4. Non-conforming material (NCM) and Corrective action request (CAR) processes
    5. 8D problem solving and engineering deviations.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings required.
  • Knowledge of Customer quality systems and documentation desired.
  • Knowledge of purchasing terms and systems desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project desired.
  • Good interpersonal communication, analytical, leadership and project management skills to develop a cooperative working relationships with others both inside and outside of Customer.
  • Knowledge of shop operations.

Background/Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) preferably in engineering.
  • Engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies for Customer type Products.

Highly Desirable:
  • Quality engineering certification.
  • Ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem solving tools.
  • Understanding of 3rd party registration standards.
