COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST - RISK TESTING - BANKING
Chester - 6 months

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support development, approval and regular review of annual monitoring & testing plan
* Execution of the assurance plan for assigned Compliance Risk Categories and Credit Risk requirements (risk families are expected to extend to other risks, for example conduct risk, during 2014/5)
* Generate timely MI as assigned which would include Regulatory, Board, Executive and Management committee at both local and International levels
* Plan test activity and execute of related reviews, against assigned credit risk and regulatory risk categories.
* Production of assigned compliance monitoring activities
* Validation of action plans completed by business areas to remediate assigned issues
* Develop, promotion and maintenance of common methodologies for identifying and assessing risk and to determine the adequacy and cost effectiveness of risk treatments applied within the business
* Identify assurance automation opportunities and progress them with support from management through to completion
* Support stakeholder management and engagement routines and initiatives

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Experience in a second-line Compliance Testing or an Audit function. The role-holder will be responsible for planning, executing and documenting testing to industry standards (and supporting management in training peers in these requirements) so this is a critical requirement.
* Knowledge of FCA rules and/or OCC rules
* Demonstrable strong technical knowledge of risk-based testing, monitoring and auditing approaches and experience in leading these reviews
* Proven track record of influencing senior management
* Proven track record of chairing meetings with effective results
* Proven ability to research, compile and present papers or reports for senior management decision making.
* Experience in risk and control assessment in Digital areas would be an advantage
