for a BMC MainView Engineer and Supporter (f/m)

Project environment

A Swiss Insurance Company.

Tasks

Operation & Support and Installation & Configuration of BMC Products
• Incident and event handling (Level 2 and Level 3).
• Problem handling and problem resolution, incl. worst case scenarios.
• Escalation of incidents and problems to the vendor, BMC Software Inc., including the actively tracking and managing of such requests.
• Installation of new versions of BMC products according to client’s request.
• Apply maintenance on BMC products and update existing documentation.
• Rollout of corrective actions as result of incident and problem analysis.
• Documentation of maintenance and installation processes.
• Base consultancy and support of BMC products.
• Checking Logs on a weekly base.

Engineering of BMC MainView Monitoring
• Design, engineering and implementation of alarms as requested by the client product engineers (e.g. WebSphere MQ).
• Ensure production readiness of every alarm, ensuring that a runbook is available (content to be provided by a client product engineer).
• Engineering and design of custom workspaces or web exports of workspaces.
• Engineering and maintenance of any created alarm or custom workspace.
• Documentation of any alarm or custom workspace.

Engineering of BMC MainView SRM, Console Management and AutoOperator
• Design, engineering & implementation of automation routines according to client’s requirements.
• Ensure production readiness of every routine, ensuring that a runbook is available (content to be provided by a client’s product engineer).
• Engineering & maintenance of any created automation rule in SRM, Console Management and AutoOperator.
• Documentation of the implementation.

Education of BMC Products
• Customizing of BMC products to have best usage of the products.
• Evaluation, installation and implementation, configuration, testing and rollout of new features or components which help to support DB2 team and DB2 developers as well as CICS engineers.
• Documentation of the usage of new functionalities and features.
• Education of BMC products to DB2 DBAs and DB2 developers as well as CICS developers.
• Goal of the education: 80% of all incidents are answered by the 1st level support.

• MainView Infrastructure, MainView AutoOPERATOR Suite, MainView for IMS, MainView for IP, MainView for USS, MainView for WebSphere, MainView for WebSphere MQ, MainView for z/OS, MainView SRM Automation, MainView Allocation, MainView SRM Reporting, MainView Transaction Analyzer, MainView Console Management.

Requirements

• Senior experiences in 60% to 80% of the key activities.
• Part time and piquet engagement.
• Willing to support service level and service management.
• English fluent written and spoken, German is an added value.
