Oracle DBA - Finance
A Senior Oracle DBA is required for a 6 month initial contract with a large financial services company based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Role Description:
- Provide level 3 specialist support for the Oracle environment in Switzerland and globally
- Work in a local and global team of Database Administrators
- Work closely together with other Distributed Systems teams (eg. Unix) and business streams as required
- Undertake scheduled on-call service
Requirements:
You, as the ideal candidate will be a flexible, open-minded, team worker, with a friendly and pleasant personality. You must be self-driven, be able to work under pressure (deadlines) and be willing to work outside normal business hours (weekends).
Furthermore you will also bring the following knowledge and experience:
- Solid work experience as a senior Oracle specialist, up to and including Oracle version 11G
- Minimum of 5 years overall work with Oracle, 3 of which were in a production support environment
- Minimum 1 years working with a large Financial Organisation
- Absolute confidence in obtaining and providing sound advice for customers and colleagues
- Very strong inter-personal and communication skills and used to be dealing in a demanding client facing role
- Ability to manage, prioritize and solve problems quickly and completely
- Proficiency with Oracle DBA tasks as well as with SQL commands to a high level
- Good knowledge of UNIX commands and utilities for Oracle RAC
- Ability to manage, prioritize and solve problems quickly and completely
- Fluent English is a must, conversational German would be beneficial
