For a six month contract, which is likely to be extended at our banking client site in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Developer (2510)
In this role you work on the client's Trading Limit System aimed to develop new business requirements, improve application performance and support a critical Private Banking credit risk system.
Main responsibilities:
- Providing analysis, design, and development skills for the Trading Limit System project according to business requirements and project specifications.
- Contribute to implementing functionality in the Batch and Database application tiers.
- Tuning SQL throughout the system.
- Providing production support when necessary.
Qualification/experience:
- Knowledge of:
- Database theory, modelling and normalization
- Oracle RDBMS architecture.
- Oracle data structures, how and when to use them.
- Data load, sql*loader, control files.
- Unit or integration test frameworks
- Version control tools such as svn
- Some experience with query tuning techniques.
- Experience of at least 2 years on Oracle application development using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Competent in Unix environment, knowledge of Shell Scripting and common Unix tools.
- Competent in writing basic Java classes for test cases.
- Conceptual Knowledge on Continuous Integration environment and Team City in particular
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Being eager to keep learning and improving himself.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a dynamic team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment for all stakeholders.
