For our client, one of the most instantly recognizable brands in the banking sector, Swisslinx are looking for a highly motivated Java Solution Architect for a new 12 month contract in Lugano, Switzerland with a strong potential for extension.
This is a 12 month contract starting ASAP, however the latest starting date is January 2015.
Java Solution Architect, Credit Risk, Banking, English (Contract, Switzerland)
The role as a Java Solution Engineer for the Lombard ACP Model (LAM) and Concentration Risk (C-Risk) applications, consists of high-profile global web applications, with a user base running to several thousands.
- Contributes to the production and maintenance of the Software Architecture Document (SAD).
- Designs solutions taking into consideration economic efficiency, quality, feasibility and alternative solutions within the project activities
- supports requirement engineers to design the domain object model
- cooperates closely with the Functional Architect, Central Architecture, Software Engineers, the IT Owner, the Requirements Engineer, the Test Manager, Test Engineers and the IT Project Manager
- Has an in-depth understanding of the Java and JavaEE technologies
- Assists other solution engineers in the implementation of the business logic requirements in JavaEE
- supports production operations analysing reported issues, inspecting logs, data constellations in DBs and performance figures
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 4 years minimum working in IT in the solution development area
- Experience in the design, and implementation of multi-tier application platforms
- Good knowledge of Java/JavaEE development platforms and associated frameworks/platforms (EJB 3, JPA 2, JSF, Facelets, JMS)
- Advanced UML knowledge and related tools (eg EnterpriseArchitect)
- In depth knowledge of multi-layered architectures, design patterns, architecture patterns, integration solutions
- Experience in development, roll-out and maintenance of complex applications
- Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people face to face and over the phone across different cultures and time zones (off-shore)
- Responsive to changing requirements and priorities
- Strong negotiation skills, both with internal as well as external clients
- In-depth knowledge of Eclipse,Subversion
- Oracle 11g and related tools (eg PL/SQL Developer)
- Weblogic server 9.x/10.x knowledge
- JUnit and Continuous Integration solutions
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English language
- Ability to work autonomously and problem solve
