for a Junior IT Security Engineer (f/m) for Security Operation Center

Project environment

A Swiss telecommunications service provider.

Tasks

• FWCR implementation on CheckPoint, Juniper, Sidewinder according to the high standard.
• Trouble shooting and incident handling & support.
• Shell scripting documentation, improvement and training and know-how sharing in SOC.

Main responsibilities:

• Firewall, Proxy and IDS/IPS security policy implementation, configuration, audit and compliance.
• Firewall, Proxy and IDS/IPS-related incident handling.
• Install and upgrade of security devices.
• Disaster and Recovery of security devices.
• Participation in change, capacity, problem and lifecycle managements.
• Execution of necessary actions to address security events / incidents.
• High and intensive customer interaction.

Requirements

• Good understanding of networking design principles and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, IPv4 and preferably IPv6).
• Good understanding of OSI Layer 2, Layer 3 and Layer 4-7 networking concepts.
• Experience with one or more security technologies include different firewall platforms (Check Point, Juniper, Sidewinder and Palo Alto), BlueCoat proxies and Palo Alto IDS/IPS is essential.
• Hands-on experience in security policy configuration and implementation and/or operation of one or more security technologies such as firewalls, proxy, intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus and content filtering, URL filtering, authentication solutions, VPN, RAS are required.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting.
• Shell Scripting know-how and experience on Linux is a significant plus.
• Certifications in any of above-mentioned Internet Security Systems technologies will be considered an advantage.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to deliver high quality and customer focused deliverables.
