For a six months contract with possible extension at an international bank located in Zurich we are looking for aBusiness Unit Controller (2141)
The part of the bank that is recruiting ensures that all business divisions operate as a coherent and effective whole by providing and managing support and control functions for the business divisions and the Group in such areas as risk management and control, finance, legal and compliance, marketing and communications, funding, capital and balance sheet management, management of foreign currency earnings, human resources, information technology infrastructure and service centers.
Working as a member of Finance Integrated Reporting FIR, you will be the point of contact for the CFO of four IT streams: WM IT and Switzerland IT, Global Production Services IT, Security IT, and Global Asset Management IT.
For these streams, you will be supporting the respective CFO and other internal clients in all financial issues (and thus effectively the CIO and COO).
You will be able to advise on all the financial aspects of the business area, and especially support the financial month end and forecasting processes, both producer and consumer view.
This would involve preparing, analysing and proceeding financials that flow into management meetings.
You would be involved in calculating financial benefits of some programmes, any prioritisation that may be needed and ad-hoc analysis.
You would be called upon to understand the high-level view of the material solutions/programmes for each business stream (programme view).
Over and above this you will also be asked to present insight into the cost dynamics.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Single point of contact for all financial issues and concerns within WM IT and Switzerland IT, Global Production Services IT, Security IT, and Global Asset Management IT
Partnering with the CFO (and COO teams) of the mentioned IT streams
Support the preparation and analysis of monthly producer reports and forecasts
Execution of month end processes (eg corrections, variance analysis)
Working closely with the consumer reporting team to ensure that consumer reports are accurate
Act as challenging partner and replacement for client-facing CFO colleagues
Preparation of ad-hoc analysis and reports
Preparation and delivery of presentations for management
Establish strong working relationships with the client and within the wider Controlling community
Requirements:
Graduate with at least 5 years post graduate experience (significant and relevant controlling, accounting experience)
Experience in dealing with senior MD internal clients in a global organisation is a plus
Be comfortable to challenging certain senior management decisions, if necessary
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Ability to work effectively at both the detailed level and at a high level
Proactive, self-motivated and able to deliver high quality results in an efficient manner and under time pressure
Excellent time management skills
Experience of working in a virtual team environment is useful
A broad understanding of IT products and services
Excellent command of MS-Office, particularly Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Fluent English skills in oral and written form is a must; German is an added bonus
