Big Data Engineer - Hadoop (4111)

We are looking for for a strong teamplayer who has the technical know how of internet facing applications.

Your Qualifications:

-Excellent knowledge with Configuration Management (Saltstack, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
-Strong UNIX skills (Redhat preferred)
-Very comfortable in the administration with Hadoop
-Deep knowledge in Python/Java/Scala programing
-Working knowledge of security concepts (as they relate to Hadoop)
-Detailed knowledge of Hadoop and related technologies
-Very skilled in scripting in a Linux environment
-Good understanding of issues inherent to distributed/clustered systems
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
-A strong sense of ownership and initiative

Your Responsibilities:

-Engineering of data pipelines (primarily batch, increasingly intra-day / near-real-time)
-Integration and evaluation of new big data and data science technologies
-Development of platform components
-Consultation to application groups on how best to utilise the platform and technologies
-Engagement with groups for PoCs and full platform on-boarding
