For one of our clients in the Industry sector in the Zurich area, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor, Bau Kalkulator or Baukostenplaner long-term contract (min. 1 year) starting February/March 2017.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake take off works to prepare full bill of quantities
- Monitor civil works costs changes
- Maintain knowledge of an understand civil engineering build methodologies, materials and plant
- Draft commercial tender documents for subcontractors
- Provide all commercial duties necessary to manage our client's selected subcontractors, manage and forecast all financial data and report internally
- Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change and contract administration
- Assist the project team with the strategy and advise our client's team during claim negotiations
- Provision of commercial reporting to project teams and management
- Maintain cost and valuation reporting procedures
- Negotiate and settlement of claims and final subcontractors accounts
- Identify client requirements and liaising with internal and external suppliers
- Supporting the tendering and SCM teams by ensuring appropriate terms and conditions are understood and applied to all tenders, subcontracts and equipment suppliers
Ideal Profile
- Experience in Civil Construction industry
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline: BSc in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Cost Engineering,
- Detailed knowledge and experience in standard methods of measurement
- Experience of Quantity Surveying in Civil and Building construction
- Track record working in high value and complex projects
- Management experience
- Experience in monthly cost/value reporting and cash flow management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Languages: Fluent German and English with good French
