Big Data Engineer - Hadoop (4146)

We are looking for for a strong teamplayer who has the technical know how of internet facing applications.

Your Qualifications:

- Excellent knowledge with Configuration Management (Saltstack, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
- Strong UNIX skills (Redhat preferred)
- Very comfortable in the administration with Hadoop
- Deep knowledge in Python/Java/Scala programing
- Working knowledge of security concepts (as they relate to Hadoop)
- Detailed knowledge of Hadoop and related technologies
- Very skilled in scripting in a Linux environment
- Good understanding of issues inherent to distributed/clustered systems
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- A strong sense of ownership and initiative

Your Responsibilities:

- Engineering of data pipelines (primarily batch, increasingly intra-day / near-real-time)
- Integration and evaluation of new big data and data science technologies
- Development of platform components
- Consultation to application groups on how best to utilise the platform and technologies
- Engagement with groups for PoCs and full platform on-boarding
