IP Engineer - Bern
Details:
- Provide efficient technical solutions according to customer needs in large and technically complex ISP/Telco backbone data networks.
- Take part as technical lead in networking projects in every phase (pre, post, design & implementation)
- Product test with customer/Pre-sales supporting
- Network design HLD, LLD
- Setup test cases together with customer
- Setup test equipment
- Support test in customer lab
- Write the technical report for test result
- Evaluate the test result together with customer
- Finalize the test with software acceptance
- Check the RFQ from the customer, and supporting RFQ answer
- Project rollout support
- Site survey before the rollout
- Check the new project and new product for later rollout
- Create the specific installation guide and commissioning guide for rollout
- Create the quality check list for rollout
- Cooperate with PM to clarify the scope of work with service partner
- Provide the installation and commissioning support for service partner or customer
- Implement the solution, technical supporting and troubleshooting during the migration
- Improve the installation and commissioning workflow during the rollout
- Finish the related documents
- Delivery the Training to customer or partner
- Provide the training on-site
- Prepare and provide the training for service partner (I&C)
- Prepare and take part in the workshop with partner or customer for network rollout
- Maintenance support
- Provide on-call support during the day or night
- Prepare and provide the training for maintenance partner
- Take part in or delivery the software new release testing
- Take part in and delivery the software upgrading (High-level end Router/Bras/Switch/Firewall and so on)
- Provide remote/onsite technical support to customers for technical enquiries.
- Execute customer network health check periodically.
- Provide IP network support of new and existing products, services and features.
- Provide high accuracy technical risk analysis for sensitive customer projects.
- Ensure quality in design and implementation stages for network rollout projects
Desired Skills and Experience
- Excellent skills in IP and MPLS Based services protocols and technologies (such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, QoS, VRRP, PPP, STP, RSTP and TCP/IP and so on), (CCIE/JNCIE level)
- Expert knowledge and experience in Data network product platforms such as Cisco IOS, JunOS, Huawei VRP.
- +5 years of experience of working in large ISP/Telco networks as Network/IP Engineer OR Network Architect or other similar roles
- Experience in IT systems and having programming/Scripting skills are benefit.
- Experience with network operation workflow and network management system
- Experience in Firewall devices (Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco)
- Customer oriented approach, willing to contact customer when needed.
- Being able to work independent or as team player according to the project scope and organization.
- Relevant university degree or vendor certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, HCNP/HCIE (R&S or SP modules) are significant benefits
- Excellent written, oral and listening skills in English, German.
- Willing to travel depending on the project requirements.
- Willing to improve himself/herself in technical areas.
- Swiss or EU Citizenship. Eligible to work in Switzerland.
