For our client in Zurich we are looking for a

Application Operation and Support Engineer

Your responsibilities:

  • 2nd Level Support of highly available web services
  • Operation of test, integration and production infrastructures for web based services running on Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Windows based systems
  • Planning and execution of maintenance of applications
  • Support of the integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production
  • Quality assurance and acceptance tests of web applications frameworks
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutionsSupport of Life Cycle projects
  • Execution of disaster recovery tests in cooperation with application implementation teams
  • Create, revise and update technical documentation
  • On-call support (7x24h) in the Applications Operations team

    As the ideal candidate you have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Completed apprenticeship in IT of other adequate education
  • Operational knowledge of state of the art web services (Oracle Weblogic and iPlanet, Microsoft IIS)
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in operation web applications on various platforms
  • Experience in System Administration of UNIX environments is an asset
  • Willingness to provide 7x24h standby duty
  • Willingness to work on weekends and outside of office hours
  • Practical experience in Incident, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with customers, senior management and other stakeholders
  • Good command of English and GermanKnowlegdge in Systems Management Tools
