Decision Support Manager
Job purpose:
-
Improve the speed and quality of cross-functional planning and decision making
-
Support strategic decision making
-
Provide advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Major actvities:
-
Increase the value of projects and portfolio by identifying opportunities for process performance improvement and by developing creative solutions for optimizing the efficiency of business processes.
- Plan and manage the implementation of competitively superior processes, data infrastructures, and systems for decision making support
- Manage project coding conventions and NCC system and data.
- Recognize opportunities, build case for change, and lead further development and improvement of project-, resource-, and decision support information systems and processes on an ongoing basis.

Manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including external support staff. Guide and interact with Finance, Controlling, and IT/Business Support functions in Global Line Functions, Business Units, and Business Franchises across and beyond R&D.
- Define and execute the strategy of the Decision Support group to further enhance project-, resource-management and decision support processes (together with Head of GDS)
- Track costs and timeline changes for all project within one Therapeutic Area.

Implement and maintain Balanced Scorecard incl. Key Performance Indicators for Drug Development Portfolio and Processes.

Design training programs for new GDS associates
Education:
-
A Master or doctoral degree in life sciences or business administration
Experience:
-
5 years or + in both, pharmaceutical industry experience and project & resource management in an international and multi-disciplinary environment.

Strong knowledge of the overall global drug development process.
-
Strong computer literacy in office-, project- and resource-management applications.
-
Very good experience in web-based reporting and executive information systems. Very good experience in web-based reporting and executive information systems.

Proven skill set in implementing and managing activity based project & resource management processes and systems in complex global R&D organization. Excellent knowledge of best industry practice.

If possible: Experience in empirical field studies, performance measurement and benchmarking in Pharma R&D.
