For a major client of ours in the financial services industry, Swisslinx is searching for a local MS SQL Architect for a long term contract position in Zurich.
The MSSQL Architect acts as the Primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the MSSQL product and proactively engages in product research and promotion of the MSSQL platform to customers within the organisation. He/she defines the architecture, concepts and design elements for MSSQL and oversees their implementation in cooperation with the MSSQL team to deliver a constantly improving, cost efficient and highly available platform. In this role a balance must be kept between business objectives, service level agreements, financial targets, IT Governance requirements, sustainable architecture and IT standards.
The close and committed cooperation with other teams (such as Application Teams, Windows Architecture and Engineering, Storage, Information Security etc.) is vital and also mandatory for success. The MSSQL Architect is responsible for defining performance, integrity and security of the MSSQL technology
stack. He/she defines the necessary processes that allows the MSSQL team to proactively manage and monitor overall health and stability of systems in scope, including system related resources and underlying services. Additional role requirements include planning, complex problem analysis, troubleshooting and professional consultancy delivery to clients.
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experiences:
- 7+ years of SQL DBA experience
- Good understanding of other DB platforms
- Strong knowledge of the MS BI Stack
- Experience with SharePoint
- Good Project Management and Service Management skills
