Systems Engineer Electronics (m/f/d) - C, C++, Python / System simulation / data processing / firmware design embedded systems / Circuit and PCB design / English & German

Project:
For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Systems Engineer Electronics (m/f/d).

Background:
Our Core Workflow Research and Early Development (RED) team creates solution concepts for new opportunities and unmet needs related to sample and data workflows. We are part of the Core Lab RED Chapter in the Research and Early Development organization in Roche Diagnostics Solution located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, with a global network and mindset. Customer needs assessment & co-creation, solution concept development, de-risking, prototyping, methods and concept development are some examples of how we create value, enabling data driven decisions and providing solution concepts to be transferred to development networks.

The perfect candidate: A perfect candidate has a higher degree in Electrical Engineering and more than 3 years of experience in said field. Along with the degree, the candidate brings knowledge in programming, data processing and system simulation, firmware design and programming of embedded systems. Lastly, the candidate is fluent in German and English..

Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Be the subject matter expert or project lead for the assigned area of responsibility in both long- and short-term projects that require understanding of workflows in a laboratory environment to solve challenges, increase effectiveness and quality
* Bring in your ideas and experience in electronics from mixed/analog and digital circuit design and layout up to system level in a multidisciplinary team
* Create, adapt and optimize electrical/electronic architectures and technical specifications for
modules and components in diagnostic laboratory automation systems or experimental breadboards
* Conduct analyses, technical calculations and simulations of electrical circuits and work according to quality standards and safety guidelines in medical engineering
* Compile, document and present findings, insights and proposals linked to technical and business impact(s)
* Technology scanning and monitoring to stay up to date with the latest scientific and engineering developments and sharing the knowledge with group members
* Develops and leverages a plentiful network of external resources in accomplishing set objectives

Must Haves:

* Master from Technical University or an Applied Science University in the fields of Electrical Engineering or similar with professional experience at least 3 years
* Ideally with experience in Programming (C, C++, Python), data processing and system simulation
* Ideally with experience firmware design and programming of embedded systems (STM32 microcontrollers, Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi)
* Ideally with experience Circuit and PCB design: drivers, power electronics, communication interfaces. knowledge in EMC, FPGA programming/ architecture, electronics architecture
* German or English fluent other language preferred
* Team player with excellent communication skills
* Interest in (self) learning new skills like data processing tools, programming languages
* Broad interest in multi-disciplinary areas like electronics, robotics, lab workflows, mechanical engineering, physics etc.
* Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with complex and new technology and business areas
* Willingness to challenge and assess ideas, results and solutions, ability to compromise combined with persuasiveness
* Implementer with a lot of curiosity to learn new things and try them out practically
* Autonomous working style, open-minded towards new methods and topics and act as a mentor to emerging engineers

Nice to Have:
* Experience in robotic solutions and regulated environments
* English & German bi-lingual is preferred
